Model FOV vs Render FOV
-
Hi
Quite new with v-ray. Trying to overlay my skp model with render I made from exactly same view. Only problem is that model and render don't match very well. Is V-ray (ver. 01.48.66) changing FOV by itself and if yes, then why? Am i missing or doing wrong something?

Odd. I've not had any problem getting SU and VfSU to match. Can you post a screenshot of your render settings? Or even share your scene?

I believe I've seen a bug report about this come through our support email. It was forwarded off to our bug tracker, but we never heard anything else about it. It might be the same person actually... let's see ::responds via bug tracker::

I actually ran into a similar problem not too long ago. Not sure if the same issue on the windows version, but I found that while using the scrollwheel of the mouse to scroll up and down through the different setting fields, what ever drop-down your cursor passes through will automatically change the options in that field (without clicking to activate). I unknowingly changed the type of camera used in the scene and didn't think to look at my settings when initially troubleshooting.
Just my experience....hope this helps.
Good luck

Yes, I would avoid using the scroll wheel in any of our UI, unless you are aware of this issue and are trying to change values on purpose. I would like to have that fixed, but there are some other bugs we are trying to resolve first.

Thank You all for respond!
I uploaded skp file here http://www.upload.ee/files/437156/Model_FOV_vs_Render_FOV.skp.html
Strange, with default render settings everything is ok, but loading another visopt, changing output resolution exactly to same numbers and push "render" button, the FOV is wrong again :S

Mark - can you upload here instead at these download services?
As for the camera. default settings works - but custom visops don't. Then I'm pretty sure it's something in the camera settings of that visops that makes the camera to deviate. It does look like the lense is more warped. Have you compared the settings between the default and the visops?

Uploaded file here.
Camera settings are similar, only shutter speed, F nr and similar parameters that don't affect camera angle nor FOV, are different. I'm pretty sure, it's something very simple, but as a beginner with v-ray, I just can't figure it out myself yet. Thanks in advice,
