Version 6 Still Available

What's the problem?
SU7.1 is fairly stable, maybe you can give more info?
- I can't get the mouse wheel to orbit or pan by clicking or shift-clicking the wheel.
- I have drawn a small floor plan for a basement and now I'm drawing in details. I'll draw a square, for example to locate a line for pot lights. Then I draw in circles to show the locations of the pot lights. Then, I want to erase the square and just leave the circles. As I start to erase a line on the square, the entire drawing vanishes. I click "Undo Erase" and it reappears.
Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Here's the older versions
Strange why it deletes all geometry instead of want you want deleted? I presume it's not 'Grouped ' or a 'Component'
As for the mouse, sometimes supplied drivers can cause conflict, especially on Macs. Did it work fine with SU6?
Thanks so much! I downloaded and installed V6 and it works well. I still can't get the mouse wheel to orbit and pan but that's likely a mouse driver. I'll work on that. But I'm up and running thanks to you.

Are the .dwg and .dxf importers still available when you download V7 and V6 from the Google site, or have they been scrubbed?

Have you tried to copy the Sketchup folder from your old computer on a usb-stick and then into the program folder of your new pc?
It's not the best way of "installing" a program, but it works. -

We have not 'scrubbed' the importers from previously released versions of our software. If you download SketchUp Pro 6 or 7 from Google, you'll get the software exactly as it was released.
I should point out that previous messages made note of two different links from which to download SketchUp. One was for SketchUp Pro, from Google, and the other was for the free version of SketchUp, from a third-party site.
We recommend against ever downloading Google SketchUp from a third-party site, as one of the best ways to ensure your version of SketchUp is authentic is by downloading it directly from us. Just a word of warning.

Sorry Andrew about that but I was unable to locate v6 within google? I'd happily delete the link if you can provide a link

Here are some older version of SU (pro only however).

If you install SU 6 or 7 Pro and it expires, it will gracefully degrade to the functionalities of the Free version.SU 5 is different - then there used to be two, separate versions (Pro and Free) and after expiration, you can no longer use the program.

Rich,
Part of the licensing arrangement we provide, and in some ways, a feature of Pro, is that we provide ongoing access to several back-revisions of the Pro product for download directly from Google. It is still possible to get the latest maintenance revisions of SU 5.0, SU 6.0, SU 7.0, and SU 7.1 if you seek the Pro product.
As for the free version, we believe it is in everyone's best interest (ours and our customers) to upgrade to the latest available and for us to concentrate our resources on using, improving, supporting, and patching, only the latest available free version. Therefore once any new version of free is provided, the download links for the previous version are taken offline.

Hi Rich,
Could you tell me how to import shapefiles. I have Pro Version 7.1 and tried downloading version 5 on another system for importing these files, because I heard version 5 had that capability, but I'm not seeing it. Is there a simpler answer to this? Sure would appreciate the help.

These were over in the 'Retired' Google Groups', their compatability with 7.1 is something i can't test as i don't use .shp
Maybe another member can help with this?
