Vray for SU... assistance needed!

Hey all, I'm fairly new with vray for su. I've been using it for around 3 months now, so I know some things but still need a bit of help to acquire the desired result. I'm trying to render a daytime, interior scene and seem to be getting a blotchy effect in the darker areas.
The Render:
1. Why is happening to the couch? 2. Where can I get better couch models that aren't boxy. (is there some sort of plugin i can use to round edges?) 3. The undesired blotchy effect happening in the darker area of the render. I believe I might have to bring up the samples... is this correct?

As you can see, I have lighting throughout the scene and the scene is still fairly dark in some areas. If you haven't noticed I'm trying to get a realistic render, therefore I place the vray plane lights in areas where light would most likely be coming from.
Please let me know if you all have any ideas of what I can do to help improve my renders!! Thanks!

Yes, V-Ray samples dark areas less.
Is it suppose to be so dark?If note, I'd adjust the camera exposure - if you're using the Physical Camera.

I tend to go for big light planes (invisible and no decay) outside entire length of windows and make GI 1.5 to make sure sunlight shadow through window is still visible.

Thanks Thomthom for the exposure advice, I will check that out. Should I just up the samples then to cure the darker area blotchy effect? That area to the right of the scene is not supposed to be that dark. There are plenty of windows from that side of the room to illuminate the room in the actual house, so I'm trying to keep it consistent in the render.
Chango, I will have to try your tip with larger plane lights. The only thing, when you use 'no decay' does that take away from a more realistic render?
I was thinking about using point lights under the recessed can lights instead of small plane lights, I think that might give me a brighter render.
