That was fast! Thanks, now it works again.
You report was just the kind I like - you explained the problem clearly - so a cause and a fix was pretty obvious...
Much better than the, "It doesn't work..." reports -
THanks TIG sir . . . . .
waiting for 2014 and 2015 update . . . .

Is it just me, or the tool menu does not show up in 2015? I'm trying to add a shortcut to one of the tools, but I can't find the plugin in the list of commands.
-
There was never a 'Projections' submenu in the Tool menu
Only a 'Projections' Toolbar. However, please replace this .rb in the Plugins folder, and tell me if it does what you desire.
After a SketchUp restart you should now get a Tools 'Projections' submenu, which is equivalent to its Toolbar items...If so, and it's good, AND there is more user support, I'll update the RBZ with it...
-
Yep, that works. Thanks!!

No longer works with Sketchup Pro 2018, it's unfortunate.

What makes you think that it no longer works in v2018 ?
I just installed its RBZ from the PluginStore... and it works just fine. The last update to this file was for v2015 compatibility, but it will still work in newer versions too...
Because it's a pretty old plugin, then it not been 'signed'.
But in newer SketchUp versions you simply have to set the Extension Loading Policy to 'Unrestricted' for it to load and run. -
As much for me, it was because I used the French translation that it did not work. I reinstalled the latest version and copied the file fr_projection.rbs in the folder projection and I also copied the file fr_projection_extension.rb in the folder plugins, because I'm curious. Well that's not very orthodox, I agree. I have part of the plugin in french and part in english! but it works properly.
-
Bon au final je le laisse (avec regret!!) en anglais, il est vieux ce plugin mais bien utile. Et je me fends d'une traduction (merci google).
Good in the end, I leave (with regret!) In English, it is old this plugin but very useful.
-
Would it be hard to make it single-step undo? With larger meshes it creates so huge undo stack that I cannot even CTRL+Z so many steps.
Capabilities of this plugin are marvellous but gotta remember to save my model each time before using it. -

it is declared as unsigned and doesn't appear in the menu bar...
But I can't find where, in SU Make, I can change the Extension Loading policy?
Not found in ShetchUcation Extension Manager !...?
Strange..
Please help.
Thanks.

Someone needs to update this very useful extension.

What needs to be updated? I'm using it in SketchUp 2021 and it works just fine for me. Your profile says you are still using SketchUp 8. It should certainly work fine in that version, too.

This is most likely a 'signing' issue...
Many older plugins/extensions are not 'signed' - this doesn't mean they won't work - but obviously changes to Ruby in newer SketchUp versions can break very old scripts...
There's no incentive at all for authors of very old 'free' scripts to get them signed, or even re-signed...If is is reported as 'unsigned' in the Extension Manager dialog it will still load and work IF you have your Extension Loading Policy set to 'Unrestricted'.
Provided that you are only installing scripts from reputable sources - e.g. EWH, our PluginStore/ExtensionStore³, or from well know authors' own web-sites [or your own attempts!] - then there's nothing to worry about... -
Thanks for the replies. I am using SU 2017 - updated my profile- and have the Extension Loading Policy set at "unrestricted", but still no luck.

What do you mean by no luck? What is happening or not happening?

After restarting SketchUp...
Is it now showings as loaded ?
Have you opened its Toolbar ??What is your problem? - in detail please...
-
YES! View = toolbars! That's what I was trying to remember. Works fine now. Thanks for the help.

Okay, Clipping and paste in place seems to do (part of) the job...
