      Hi Mark, there is no button or menu item for progressbar. Please stop looking for it.

      You might need to go to View > Toolbars > Shape Bender to turn on the shapebender toolbar. It is a small single icon, easy to not see if you have a big monitor. Or if you have toolbars that are "loose" (not docked into the window) then they can stack on top of each other, so maybe its under another toolbar.

      Lately you've been tan, suspicious for the winter.

        Have you activated 'Shape Bender' from Window > Preferences > Extensions.
        If not then try that... and then the menu/toolbar become available.
        If it's not listed as an Extension then it is NOT been installed properly ❗

          If you aren't seeing Shape Bender under View>Tool Palettes, I would guess you still haven't installed it correctly. Why don't you post a screen shot of Finder showing the plugins folder and its contents? Otherwise we're going to play this guessing game until you've got it installed correctly and working. And I can assure you, the plugin does work on Mac if it is installed correctly.

          By the way, there's no toolbar button press between selecting the straight line and the curve. You select the component/group you want to bend and then choose the tool.

          Okay, I am now seeing Shape Bender under View > Tool Palettes, and can see the Tool Bar. I can also select it from Plugins > Chris Fulmer Tools. I have it selected in my preferences extensions.

          So it looks like it should be working now, and I'm following the instructions from the video: I click on my group or component (I've tried both), then click on the Tool Bar. After that, I should be able to select my straight line, right? Left clicking doesn't do anything. Right clicking brings up a menu that does have anything to do with Shape Bender.

          Argh.

          How do I include screen shots? I clicked on Img - what do I stick between the brackets?

            First make sure that you align the whole thing (group, straight line and curve) in a way that the straight line is parallel to the red axis. This is an often overlooked condition (and Chris has been keeping this plugin in Beta version for ages now) 😒

            Anyway, you can attach any images or many other file types under the text area you are posting (there is an "Upload attachment" tab). the [img] tab is for including/embedding images hosted elsewhere.

                When you try it please have Window > Ruby Console open and post any errors that appear there - it might still not be fully installed ??
                These messages might help us spot what is missing/broken...

                  I can't find any other forum that's having problems like this. Let me be clear. I have watched the videos several times. Here's where I get stuck:

I understand I should be able to select the single line that lies on the red axis and then select the arc. But left clicking on the single line DOES NOTHING. Right clicking on the single line brings up a menu with options that have nothing to do with Shape Bender.

                      You should have clf_shape_bender_loader.rb in the plugins folder.

                      Then all the other files - clf_shape_bnder.rb and all the shapebender icons should be in a subfolder called shapebender.

                      The zip file is arranged this way, so you should have just been able to open the zip file and drag it directly into your plugins folder, with the folder hierarchy correct. So, please go try to re-install it, or just manually put all other shapebender files into a subfolder call shapebender.

                          Well, I thought I had all of the files the way you listed them, but I deleted everything and reinstalled it, and it's working perfectly.

                                So my problem is as follows: Preselect my group, select first line, select second line (curved), automatic bug splat! no explanation, no warning.

                                after an hour or so sifting through my plugins, I discovered that when SU Podium V2 (i have version 2.6, the file is called SU_Podium_V2.rbs) is present in your plugins folder it causes for shapebender to crash automatically,
                                has anybody experienced the same?

                                  Having problems with the plug-in. I basically try to select the first option (red axis line) and it does not select any line. Therefore I can even get to the second part of selectingthe arc line. I am currently using skp 8 on windows 7. I am not sure if the script does not work on windows 7.
                                  Any help?

                                    You need to give us more. Could you post the SKP that is giving you trouble?

                                    The plugin does work on Windows 7 so I don't think that's the problem.

                                      Have you got progressbar.rb installed, as the instructions.
                                      The line must be parallel to the red-axis, that line and the curve/arc cannot touch each other OR touch any other geometry.
                                      If these two things seem correct then run it with the Ruby Console open and post error messages.

                                        I'm going to guess its an installation problem - cursor icons in the wrong spot. That seems to be the main reason people can't select things.

                                        You can open the Ruby Console and see if it gives any errors while running the script. Then copy and paste them back here for us to read.

                                        I might just need to update shape bender with a quick fix to have it verify that it was installed correctly - subfolder, and files in the right spot. Maybe it can even move them around they are in the wrong spot. And check that progressbar is installed. And then I suppose it would be easy enough to tell people that their line is not on the red axis.

                                        I think those couple of fixes would be enough to save ourselves (and TIG and Dave in particular) some serious headaches. I think 56 of the 58 pages all revolve around installation ("copy and paste") issues.

                                          Chris, it would be great if you could get the plugin to repair itself. You're right about the installation problems. Of course yours isn't the only plugin that folks don't install correctly.

                                            Hi guys

                                            I'm having a problem with the shape bender plugin and I can't seem to figure out what is going on. I am working with a file I downloaded off the 3d warehouse and whenever I try to use the shape bender plugin it rotates the object rather than bending it. The screenshot shows you what I am talking about. The plugin works fine on other files so it appears to be something about this particular file. I figured it could be something with the axes, but I can't find a solution. Any suggestions???screen.jpg
