A new version of SunTools Plugin (V2.0) for SketchUp is available now.

The new version incorporates the calculation and visualization of Visible / Obstructed Sky from any point in a project (exterior/interior), and improvements of existing features as suggested by users.

        Plug-in Features

        • SunPATH: visualization (month and year)
        • SunPOS: Sun Position for a date and time
        • SunVIEW: Axonometric views from the Sun
        • SunPENETRATION: Analyze Sun Penetration/Access in any specific analysis point.
          New!
        • SkyVIEW: Calculate Sky Solid Angle (SSA) and % of visible sky / Visualize Visible/Obstructed sky from any point in your project

V2.0 of the plug-in can be downloaded after registration from: http://tx.technion.ac.il/~arrguedi/SunTools/download.html
A short documentation file can be viewed at: http://tx.technion.ac.il/~arrguedi/SunTools/dwnld_after_reg/stdwnld/sunTools_helpV2.pdf

** A Mac version of the plug-in will be available next. πŸ‘

        Enjoy.

Me too. Disabled it till it's fixed... Tried to limit it loading via an enclosing ruby but that fails - it's a compiled rbs...

Ken and TIG (maybe others with the same issue).
              Thanks for the feedback,
It seems like a conflict of names, I'll fix it today, and put an updated version for download.

New version did the trick, no more loading another script during start up.

                  Thanks

Ths for the tool. I couldn't register, got a message that the FormBuddy Quota Exceeded.

                          Any other way?

This tool was a problem because it rewrote a number of core class/methods that then clashed with many other tools - it hasn't been 'current' for a while - pity as it was potentially useful... 😞

It also messes with base classes, so it's best avoided ??

This script has caused a lot of problems. Best if it were removed or re-written. But I can't keep up with life lately, so I won't be getting to it anytime soon.

Lately you've been tan, suspicious for the winter.

It does not seem to work; its a shame. I have the files. Its seems compatibility might had been broken. Also the website has a broken download link (and generally it seems broken and possibly abandoned). I have some old files from 2013 (unpacked); if someone would want to try and fix the issues I would be grateful.

As was mentioned a few posts back [but ~3 years ago !] http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=287700#p287700
The toolset seems abandoned, is flaky AND is potentially harmful to the loading/operation of several other tools anyway.
It is a 'rogue' which messes with native/base classes and its installation is best avoided.
It will also almost certainly not be v2014 compatible [but please complete your SCF User Profile so we might better help you].
The tool's files are encrypted as rbs - effectively making them uneditable and unknowable [without a Trimble-only 'decompiler' app - which would then break the ToS]...

As currently supplied in the previous post's ZIP, the files will 'install', but not 'load' as SketchUp starts, because the 'loader' rbs has be disabled using the SketchUcation 'Plugins Manager' [note the final ! on file-type]...

I do not recommend installing OR using it at all !

Instead, why not write a usage-spec and start a new thread that asks for development of a similar new Plugin ?

I have PM'd you with something to try...

                                            TIG
