[Plugin Library] LibFredo6 - v14.6a - 18 Sep 24
-
V2020 Win10 - the newest LibFredo was just installed and now all of the Fredo extensions show up with French text, not the usual English !?
The Tools > Fredo Tools > Traduction [aka Translation] is set to EN, but FR is showing...V2019 took the new LibFredo and left everything in EN ? most odd...
But I don't see FR as an alternative language listed in v2019's Translation dialog...EN is the 'preferred' language is both versions...
I thought there was a common set of 'defaults' across SketchUp versions ?
PS:
I fixed it by setting the 2nd/3rd language preferences to 'none' so only EN is set up.
For some reason when the first language is EN and FR is the second FR prevails !
This happens in v2020 & v2019 !
Having just EN set up it works as before... -

Hello - Downloaded and installed over earlier version. Restarted Sketchup and MacBook Pro. This is what I get. Any suggestions? I've been using Fredo Corner for several years now. Never had any problem.
MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018)
OS X Catalina 10.15.4Did you restart Sketchup after installation?
Do you still have the problem?

The Tools > Fredo Tools > Traduction [aka Translation] is set to EN, but FR is showing...That's not new actually. Always been like this...
Default language (i.e. 'none') happens to be my English, whereas EN states for real English, for which I don't provide a translation (and would happily let an English contributor provides a good translation).
If you specify EN + FR, then you'll get mostly French, because LibFredo6 looks at language in order and find nothing for EN and something for French.
I'll do something to avoid confusion.
-
I didn't specify any language.
In v2019 it lists EN, but in v2020 it auto lists EN/FR/ES [or DE if I don't recall right !] -

Iain,
Does LibFredo (and my other plugins) still load and work despite of that?
I cannot reproduce the problem on my Mac (Catalina and MBP too). So, I need to investigate why you get the problem.

Iain
One thing to check is whether the binary file has been successfully copied.
Could you do the following in SU2019
-
Open the RubyConsole
-
Type
File.join(Sketchup.temp_dir, 'Fredo6_LibFredo6_TemporaryFiles')
-
The console should display the result, something like
/var/folders/6_/9kz2gk_x7b70xbzsq4ghcpt00000gn/T/com.sketchup.SketchUp.2019.johnthorp/Fredo6_LibFredo6_TemporaryFiles -
Open the Finder and use the menu Go > Go to Folder (or Shift-Command-G) and type the result of the previous step in the prompt dialog
-
If you open the directory in the finder, could you check if there is
- a subfolder: binaries
- and within it a subfolder SU19 with a file bin_LibFredo6.bundle
If there is no file, then we have the explanation. This might be a problem of security settings.
If there is a file, then this is another problem.

Plz tell me how to fix it -
Fredo will reply in detail, but it looks like your Korean user-name [정영호] is causing the issue.
Ruby expects any text-strings to be UTF-8 encoded.
In earlier Ruby versions non-ASCII characters always caused problems.
In the newer versions of SketchUp there is text-encoding possibilities.
I know Fredo uses these latest methods.
But somehow your Korean user-name is almost certainly causing the problem...
