actually i think the easiest way would be the section plane tool, you can right click on it then choose slice model at section to get rid of everything behind the plane.

That's the Zorro tool. Not native SU.

ha, its pretty bad when you can't tell the difference between SU and scripts anymore!

I'd also go for Zorro in this case (since you don't only want to have a "visual effect" but to "model the parts together") however - just to be "fair" to SU - if you group your section plane with the geometry, you can have different section planes/cuts working in the same model (i.e. the "rear" would not be hidden).

I'm still struggling with this.
Zorro 2 persistently crashes on me running V7 Pro on XPPro and crashes Sketchup. It works on very simple models however. This is a stable machine that I use allday everyday.
When I tried the alternative to create a cutting plane and intersect the model a lot of the geometry is not cut for some reason. Its a complex model...
Any ideas, I dont like to be beaten!!!
I dont have to do this, I like to learn by challenge!

You need to add the section plane INSIDE the car_A component. Oriented to the front.
INSIDE car_B component you place a second section plane facing to the rear end of the car.
Both section planes can be active at the same time for they are in different components.
The rest is up to you.Wo3Dan
p.s. Toggle off "Display Section Planes" and have "Display Section Cuts" ON
