Export it as a .jpg. open in your editor, greyscale it and use as a bump map.

If you see a toilet in your dreams do not use it.

No seriously, it has to be harder than that πŸ˜†

Add this to my D'oh list.

        Thanks.

If your feeling really lazy you could even use jims grayscale plugin. (on second thoughts, im not sure if it can convert single materials πŸ˜‰ )

Well, doing so you MAY get a good ("usable") bump map. Not every image's greyscale will work "ideally" so you may still need to "tweak" it (make a negative if the mortar is lighter than the brick for instance - just to name an "easy one" - etc.)

                Definitely.

I am just surprised I forgot (yes forgot) that I could just right click the little bugger and save as a jpeg

Best program I have found yet for making bump, normal, and specular maps. Works flawlessly and is very reasonable.

That app definitely deserves mentioning. πŸ‘
I used to play around with it in its Beta phase and once I am in a serious need, I'll definitely invest the cost.

OK....probably a silly question but when do you use bump instead of displace in V-Ray for SU? I'm just now getting the time to mess with V-Ray πŸ˜„
                        Thanks,
