Google....give us back our back button[SOLVED]
-
You can just drag and drop from adobe bridge. Simple as.
-
Side by side installs of SU7 and any previous version can screw up skp thumbnails in XP, the same probably applies for other MS OS's. I haven't worked out the "logic" behind this bug as it affects some skp files, but not others. You'd think it would be skp files saved in the previous version format that wouldn't display as thumbnails (or vice versa), but it's not as simple as that; it appears to affect skp files at random regardless of version format.

Still not a peep from Google on this? What gives? Most of the well known people here and at Google groups, not to mention blogs all over WWW have been complaining about this.
SketchUp 8 is coming Google, could you please just do a copy/paste from the previous code so we can get our back button?
-
I believe they are watching, let's wait for the next version and see.

Good point Solo, we should give them the benefit of the doubt here and wait for SU8...

It seems that I can finally "unstick" this topic.

We need some champagne! and where are those fireworks...

I have a feeling that we are seen as rats in a lab by Google... they are watching our reactions and don't give a damn... And I bet they are laughing too! They said: "this people are expecting several features to be fixed, well... let's give them just some speed improvement and see the reaction."
It would be appreciated at least a word from them... but Google is silent like a stone when is coming about answering questions. But, in exchange they know how to promote everything. I always liked those sketchup promoting videos like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PLSlHbQ-bc, or the comic book for Google Chrome . Actually that video with Aiden convinced me to try SketchUp. But all these convince me that we ar just lab rats... they give us candies, but no answers... we don't worth such an effort? -
I just noticed that they didn't mentioned the Back button in the announcement... hm..
-
Because it was exclusively for us. Only SCF members get it

"Just some speed improvement"?

But weren't other thing also "most asked" ?
-
Not that i can think of.
-
The toolbar issue would be high up there. But we've gotten speed improvement and the Back button back. Not bad for a point release.
-
Thanks, Google, for giving us the back button back!
-
So the SketchUp gods have not forsaken us after all... praise the gods!

You've got to wonder tho, why it was removed in the first place.... Oversight? Misguided? Error? Overwhelmed? Bureaucracy?
It's kind of like the upgrade was a step back and then fwd, a ying and yang... Still the best, but interestg b/c one sees it in every googlized program or service (except search of course).
/D

Oversight? Misguided? Error? Overwhelmed? Bureaucracy?Oversight?
not likely since were only talking a handful of devs here, seems everyone would know evrything in such a small group. Heck there within spitball distance of each other or closer!Misguided?
Obviously!Error?
goes hand-in-hand with misguidedness.Overwhelmed?
not likely! But not an excuse either.Bureaucracy?
Well as we all know a bureaucracy can screw up just about anything! When it comes down to it who ever made this "executive" decision obviously does not use SketchUp as much as we do, nor love it as much as we. Saying that there was no room for the back button after adding the warehouse entrybox is just a crock and we where not about to let that slip by so easy!
Let this be a lesson to you Google, when you make software as revolutionary as SketchUp it will get harder and harder to meet the previous threshold. But don't worry, we ain't about to let you muck it up!
We are watching Google, you know of which i speak, an all seeing eye, lidless!, and wreathed in flame! We will never blink!!!
