      Golden Greetings
Screen text is a great tool and I was trying to figure out how to protect it from editing or being selected. (seen but not touched). Is this a ruby? Thanks all

True, apparently you cannot lock screen text (like you can geometry).

How about a Watrmark overlay though? You can "mix" styles (even you can have different styles on different scenes in your model) and a greeting text can be created with transparent alpha channel in any external image editor then positioned and scaled to your needs in the foreground.

Transparent png positioned top centre in the foreground
If you don't want to use it on each scene, just change the style back to the default one and save as new style when updating the next scene. See also attached skippy (it even has a nice transition which can be good for animation export)

Change the scenes in the skippy

          Thanks Gaieus
This will work, however the attached has the what I call the title block(screen text in upper left)). I want to preserve it, so when other users sent it back with revisions, so I know which model it has been edited from.
          Thanks

              You cannot lock layers.
You can lock selected groups etc BUT if it's contents are purely text it won't group.
              Make a temporary cline/guide.
Select that and the text and make into a group.
              Lock that group.
Erase all clines/guides and you are left with a [locked] group containing just the text.

The locked group+text cannot be erased, BUT it can be unlocked, the the block can be edited and its text edited - you just re-locked on completion...

It's a 'glitch' in SUp that you can't make a group of one piece of screen text but after it's made WITH a cline [that's then erased]... it will work as a then [un]lockable group and it can be edited to suit ad relocked afterwards...

              .

Also a glitch in SU tha though by right clicking on pure text, you cannot make a component/group of it but by using the "Make component" button as well as the "Make component" or Group command from the Edit menu, you can. This also applies to single entities (a single nine or a guide point for instance).

However if you make a group/component of the text, it will no longer stay in the corner while orbiting but fly away like me when first using my space navigator πŸ˜„

                  Hey
I was barking up the wrong tree. The right click would not group the text, but hitting edit make component did. The text component frame had to be resized, then I locked it, purged the component list and it(text component) disappeared. Yes it flys around on orbit, but still works to lock it, and still with an unlock, explode and edit option.
                  Cheers

                    BTW Gaieus
I am slowly working on a SU model of my lodge(with the logo scene, thanks) but it has 14 rooms, 12 bathrooms, and a 28 feet high open greatroom. Seems easier to build the real thing 11 years ago.
                    Cheers
