 As I understand it, gasoline/petrol, diesel, kerosene, paraffin oil, require an open flame or spark to ignite. From a Mythbusters answer website:

 I heard you can extinguish a match in gasoline, if there are no vapors to ignite above it. But I would never try this theory.

 Wether a cigarette can or can't ignite gasoline, I'd not try it myself...
