I have tried to install mover.rba couple of times but not a thing happens. it does not show up in any menu; it is as if it was not there.

I must surely be doing something wrong; the problem is to know what.

I unzipped it and put the folder named mover Folder in the plugins folder of SU. inside that folder there is another named Jim Foltz which holds 3 more.

could anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

      cheers.

You should have a script called 'JimFoltz.rb' in the Plugins folder that loads everything else...
Inside the Plugins folder you should have a folder called 'JimFoltz'.
Inside that you should have three sub-folders. These are called:
        'files' - containing 'mover.html'
'images' - containing 6 jpg images for the buttons (e.g. 'arrow_blue_dn.jpg')
        'scripts' - containing 'mover.rb'

THEN it will work and appear in the Plugins menu...

Is there a possibility you use SU5?
Because (unfortunatelly) Mover.rb works only in SU6.

          Just a thought

            emahfuz,

Please try the latest version: http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=153&t=1530

Thanks for your patience. It won't work with version 5 because it uses the new Webdialogs available in V6.

is there any important reason why it will not move an edge, a face or a construction line?

It only works with groups/components afaik.

I you're interested I have a script that is somewhat similar that lets you type in a distance value and move "anything" with the arrow keys. It's called jsMoveTool.rb

                  favicon

Is this a new post or an old post being transfered?

                    Hi

If you have a look at the post dates/times, it shows that it was transferred on Nov. 23 )within about two minutes ending with Edson's post after yours).

Then Edson went on with the discussion on Jan. 18 - so it must be "new" from that point.

                      Gai...

Nudge was the first script that used the arrow keys to nudge all sorts of stuff http://www.smustard.com/script/Nudge.

The Move Wizard in RpTools/Space Design also moves everything http://forums.renderplus.com/wiki/index.php?title=RpTools#Move_Wizard but works in PCs only.

I'm planning on trying a new move-like Tool that is keyboard only. I don't care for the dialog myself. I think with a well written instructions, intuitive functions, and using only keyboard with modifiers; a new mover could be a efficient tool.

I think I'll go try Jan's jsMoveTool now...
