So here is as close to version 1.9 as it's going to get because I ran into some trouble and think that it will be easier to fix it after changing to version 1.10 and beware that in-between versions are buggy! And as for my real name, it is in the copyright, and yes I to wonder what great things I will be doing at 30.

        Darrel,

        Brilliant script.
Nevertheless it gives me a "fakestart" eroor and from then on I have to click for every single edge to be created (and some more clicks/Enters for some reason).

        Thanks anyway!

Oops, sorry but I forgot to remove some debugging stuff 😳 , those message boxes are just checkpoints along the code to help me figure out where problems are, they don't mean anything.

OK, I deleted the two lines that launched the message boxes. The script works "fluently" now but actually does some irregularities; it does not start stitching from the point which would be logical for me. (See the attached picture)
Instead of the red edge another one from the next point on the circle (to the left) should go to the bottom right corner.

There the problem comes up again. I saw it before but couldn't replicate it but apparently you re-found it so I can fix it, now that circles diameter is the same as the squares width, right?

Yes, exactly and it's aligned right above it.
It only does it where it starts stitching - all other lines are in the right place.

Thanks for the info πŸ˜„ , it probably is being fixed in the (edited again) ENTIRE REWRITEof the code that I'm doing but I'll check for it when I'm done. Meanwhile you can just use the "Flip Edge" tool from the sandbox tools to fix it.

Yeah, or just redraw that single line. Not a big problem anyway...
Thanks for the script again and hope you can make it even more perfect.

So, I was just wondering just how much people would be willing to pay for this script. It will be for free (don't worry πŸ˜„ ), but I just want to see what a reasonable price would be.

                        Darrel,

You probably know Smustard.com - you can see how much most of the "pay scripts" cost for some kind of a comparison.

So, I went to camp last week and am just getting back to the script. Progress is currently slow, so please be patient. I will be releasing a half version soon, hopefully before Sunday, and probably with a question on some logic.
And I think I have my info from the poll, could a moderator please remove it. Thank you. πŸ˜„

                            Darrel,

You should also be able to delete it by editing your first post but I deleted it for you now.

I1m looking forward to the progress eagerly though don't want to "push" you.

Ok, this script is going Ridiculously SLOW! 😳 I must admit that I like architecture much more than programing, but I am waiting until this script is done before doing any. But since programing is an afterthought time fill-in and when I am programing it goes quite slowly... But there is good news, the code for the script is going to be a lot faster and better, there is progress, and the end is in sight (I have the final logic in my head).

My family went on a 2 week vacation and when we got back it was about time for school to start. So now it is about a month since I have worked on the script, and my school schedule is pretty tight leaving me not much free time, and the free time that I do have normally goes to other things. But the script is still moving along, slowly though.

Hi, I just came in to say thanks for the nice script, and thus far I'm able to work it with very few errors.

But I was wondering will you be including an option to auto-smooth the lines as they are made? I know its rather early in the life of your script, but that would be a helpful addition.

Thanks again for the script, its a time saver and works alot better than the from contours tool in alot of cases.

It will be considered when I come to that point. Thanks for the idea πŸ˜„

                                        Hi ArchitectBoy,

Maybe you could have a look at the new versions of extrude_lines.rb or at extrudelinetool.rb. They "auto-soft" extruded edges when original edges are parts of curves, arcs, circles.
                                        Hope this helps,

                                        DB

So life is now settling into the school pattern and I am now getting more time to work on the script. Now it just crossed my mind to check out all the versions that I have put out to you guys to see just how much the script had progressed through time. The results are sad, thus giving me a lot of reason to stop being lazy with the script. I almost feel like apologizing, but I know that you nice people wont accept one. If your wondering what I mean, just take a look at these test results. The unconnected ones came up with an error, the version numbers are on the side and the last row is to show what they were tested on.
