Hi guys, does anyone know of a glass-texture that will give the appearance of a mirrored surface?

I think a lot of people use the Corrugated_Shiny metal material. Paint it to the surface, and use Texture > Position to rotate it 45 degrees. Enlarge and position it as necessary to get the desired effect.

In my work I found that you can increase the effect adding some transparancy to the shiny material
          Good luck

Either this doesn't get me mirror effect with reflection and everything, either I'm doing something wrong (Texture > Position is making me confused)... 😳
I'm begging you all for some additional help on this topic.

P.S. I refuse to make peace with the fact that SketchUp doesn't contain simple 'mirror' material in the paint bucket 😒

                thanks everyone πŸ˜„

I don't think anyone insinuated that you would get a reflection. You won't. If you aare waiting for a material to do that in SketchUp, I imagine that you'll have a long, wait. Why don't you do what others do and use a rendering application for that?

I'm not that experienced in that, so I just hoped there is something else...
Thank you, and I hope I didn't step on any toes here by making such remark πŸ˜†
it was more of a desperate call πŸ˜‰

                      Hi Domi_nation

Are you able to get it to replicate what Robert posted above? The intent being it will look "shiny" but it isn't actually going to reflect anything. For many of us that shiny metallic look is effective enough to convey the idea of a reflective surface. Using the position texture function can be a bit tricky. I'd suggest watching the training movie about it.

                      Regards, Ross

Or, if you ultimately want to fake reflection, you can use this tip in the Tutorial Section.

or export the texture image, rotate it and import it again.
