Apparently, I am not not drawing the arc between to circle correctly.
Make sure you get the magenta inference. The start and end points of the arc should be in the same relative segments of the circles. Often best to use a segment Midpoint rather than an endpoint. And it needs to be at a point that will flow smoothly with the circle.

I have to use the TIG Weld feature to connect the lines so I can use them for the path for the Follow Me tool.
Well yes, but all I did was triple click to select all of it as the path. Weld allows you to select it with one click.

I get the outline in the face and I have to go erase the outline.
I double click on the face, which selects the face and it's edges allowing it all to delete in one go.

Here is the file from what I did for this exercise
Looking at your model it is clear you haven't connected the arc smoothly.
And the circle you have in the middle of the shape is drawn Off Axis, so it will not line up correctly with the rest of the model.I am still having a problem with connecting the circles. Do you have a suggestion/advice about how to correctly connect the circles? How do I get a reference to the segment Midpoint?

Look for the tooltips that tell you midpoint or end point etc

@ntxdave
I can't answer just now. I will tomorrow if I have time.
But lets clean things up a bit, rather than having this discussion in Tuna's Gallery thread. Can you start a new thread in the Newbie sub forum and include your model. It would be best if you can include it with the setup before you used follow me.
Then Dave or Rich will split the relevant post out of this one and into the new one. -

let me know by tagging me in that new thread and I'll move this sidebar.
Not sure what you mean by tagging you.
Here is the new thread I have created: Box Exercise Discussions

I see a major issue is that your profile is offset inward from the path but more than the radius of the arcs at the ends.
Do you really want the "knobs" at the ends to have that corner.
Here the profile (shown selected) is aligned with the path. On the right you can see some of the resulting extrusion. Might be better to put the profile outside the path.

Box, I have tried many times now and I cannot get a smooth arch/connection between the two circles and therefore I am not getting a good outline for creating the model. Are there any tips you can give me for creating a connecting arch that will give me a smooth outline for creating the object in your example?@Dave-R I did make the adjustments you suggested and I did a better result but I am having problems based on what I have asked @Box about.
As I have said before, I have used SU for several years now but for a very concentrated set of models and now I am trying to expand my skills and am not making very good progress.

My guess would be your circles are not drawn on axis. Not at a computer so can't check your model.

I thought they were. I will try agin, tomorrow I hope.

It's pretty clear just from Dave's screenshot that your circles are off axis.

I used the green axis But I will try the red axis and see if it makes a difference. I will also make sure that when I draw the circle again that I follow the axis when drawing the circle. As I am typing this response, that is probably what I did wrong. Don’t give up on me.

OK, I made sure I drew the circle on an axis (red) and then I created the arch (see image below). However, once again things are correct. If you look at the image, you will see a gap and the points where the arcs connect to the circle are not properly aligned. I do not understand what I am doing wrong.
