Anyone know whats going on here ?? The arm is a component with several subcomponents in a "logical order"
the cube is a standalone component. When trying to pick up the cube by "Ctrl" clicking on the cube and rotating it with the arm it just flies away.

Sometimes the transformation will be inferred off the hovered object.
If you hover the timeline elements you can see info related to where the object is transforming from.
It can get a bit confusing with nested groups. But hovering the elements will display info related to what is happening.

Do not select the arm and the cube together for the rotation (because the arm has other rotations).
-
So the answer here is to have the "pickup and rotation" done in two paralell actions, with the same pivit point ?
-
Yes. It's safer, because the arm and the cube have different path before. Linking them together in one movement make them dependent for all movements

Ok, makes sense. Thank you
