Fredo Plugins not functioning anymore
-
Hello !
I have been using Fredo plugins for some time now, with their license activated, and they saved me quite a lot of trouble in my work !
The thing is, they just stopped functioning on my sketchup at some point and I can't figure out the reason why...! I can see the buttons of the different plugins but when I click on them, nothing happens..
I tried desinstalling completely the software and reinstalling it, same with all the plugins, with no success... The installation goes well, the buttons appears but when I click on them, nothing ! It's driving me crazy !!
The only thing that I had done before it stopped functioning was to install an other plugin, BLB bois, in order to help me layout some plans.. Could there be an issue between these plugins ?Could anybody help me with this issue ??
Thank you in advance for your time. -
Please run the Window > Libfredo Settings > Fredo6 Plugins Information for Sketchucation Support menu command in SketchUp and copy/paste the output into your reply.
I would imagine you are running outdated extensions.
You need:
- Sketchucation Tools 4.4.1: https://sketchucation.com/plugin/696-sketchucationtools
- Libfredo 15:https://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=LibFredo6
If you launch Sketchucation Tools in SketchUp you can update extensions

That shows only JPP is installed and licensed.
The rest looks ok. If you install the other Fredo extensions and open the Ruby Console are there errors?
If you open SketchUp then go to Extensions > Developer > Ruby Console it will open the console. Now close SketchUp and start it again so there if there are any startup errors they will show up.
Keep the console open and install other Fredo extensions etc. See if you get any errors.
But from your shared text it is only JJP that is installed.

Extension returned wrong type for method mark_as_uninstalled
=> That's what is typed in the console when I uninstall the plugins
Nothing is written in the console when I install a plugin
When I sent the console logs, I had only install JPP thinking if I solve the issue for this one, it will solve it for all of them. Here is the console log with all my Fredo plugins installed :

Tried to reinstall sketchup and launch it as an admin. Doesn't seem to help, I still get the same "permission denied"...
Anybody, any idea ?
-
You don't need to reinstall SketchUp.
Just Repair it.
Close SketchUp.
Right-click on the SketchUp installer's exe file's icon [in Downloads] > Run as administrator... choose Repair.
Do not 'run' SketchUp as administrator, it can cause permission issues.
Your normal user-account might have some 'admin-powers' but that's not the same thing...
Do not Run the installer by double-clicking it - that can cause unpredictable permissions issues.
As far as the:
C:/Users/greg_/AppData/Local/LIBFREDO6_DATA_Dir/LibFredo6_all_defaults.dat
issue is concerned, I'd delete that dat file [or move it out of the way in case of a mess-up in the next step, so you can back-step to where you were].
Alternatively right-click on the dat file's icon and use Security > Permissions > Edit to give FULL control to everything that is listed...
When SketchUp restarts it should be remade with default settings and permissions... -
Thank you, TIG I just deleted the LIBFREDO6_DATA directory and it solved my issue !
Every thing seems to be working fine again -
I didn't actually tell you to delete the whole directory !
Just the dat file.
But probably no harm done
