Electrical cord modelling help please
-
I am doing a lamp model. Electrical cords are my nemesis. Could somebody please suggest a method to do model
a believable lamp cord? -
I tend to use Clothworks to run a sim on a divided line...

...some proxies to act as colliders and a few pins where I need them.
You can use HelixAlongCurve to generate coiled wires if that's your thing...

Then you position your camera inside the helix with a nice DOF and click render with Rayscaper

File attached to see clothworks setup if you need it

Thanks heaps Rich
I do not know why I have an aversion to plugins, to my detriment I expect. Though I will download clothworks but the wait time to receive the plugin did not work with my workflow.Did you do the cable with the follow me tool?
I did not see your post in time, but thank you very much for it. I ended up figuring out my own way which turned out OK. I have attached an image of my methodology which basically was to do a 2d follow me and the slice it and rotate the segment and then join them. Sounds fiddly but in fact was quite easy.
