Charge - Blender Open Movie

Short movie that ushers in new tools and workflows in Blender...
Cool 'how it was made' stuff at the end too.

Just saw this a few months ago. Incredibly well done.
I'll be moving on to Blender this year. SketchUp has become to limiting and too expensive for me.
It's great for what Trimble has decided to position it for, and it, and everyone here, taught me a lot about 3D modeling, but Blender has far more options for what I want to do.
I just hope it doesn't take me another ten years to master.
I'm too old for that. -

I'm too old for that.No one has ever mastered Blender. There's ninja's out there for sure but complete mastery is is close to impossible.
That said it's a wonderful app to learn. I use it in tandem with SketchUp. Sometimes I start in SketchUp other times Blender.
I love Blenders open approach to implementing new features, polishing old ones etc... it's too hard to ignore it these days considering its free and so powerful.
Free real time engine, free path tracer with denoising, free video editing, free simulations and the volum of online learning is staggering.

Heck, I don't even consider myself a master of SketchUp.I would love to stay with SketchUp and for doing certain projects it's perfect. I will probably end up like you and using both. But I am definitely moving more toward Blender in the future.
