...happened on the way to.
I left the render running on what I expected to be a short run to the doctor, get some meds and job done.
Well, that happened - not.
Twelve hours later and a trip to the emergency room I have some new, new meds and am thoroughly knackered. The render did get a bit of time to finish though.

Thanks folks, improving slowly will be the trick but I got a result and a direction for the medics to go in treatment wise so better than it has been.
220 passes was a little extreme but it's not like I was home teplay Tetris or anything.
Have a great weekend folks, Im going to watch the British GP and chill.

Hi Mike, 220 passes is not extreme at all. I usually go for not less than that, but usually 250+ I know how difficult it is without a lightening fast GPU as you are not in a position to so anything else on your computer whilst rendering. I would look at that accidental lesson as gold

I have dragged out of retirement, the Turret bathroom model and rendered it in Maxwell, think I am slowly getting a grip on this.

Thanks folks, I find myself saying that a bit more bump here and there would be good etc. Learning to be critical of our own work is tough, when should we stop kicking ourselves etc.
Either way I am in fine company and you folks all make the process a much nicer experience, thanks to all.

" Learning to be critical of our own work is tough" I do not get that I think being critical of your own work is a fundamental requirement fo producing quality or at least moving forward

I do agree but, not every image has going to be perfect and as a hobby renderer it is important not to beat yourself up too hard. Sometimes it just does not happen and you can be happy with that. If you are being paid that is something else.
