Hi all, I have been working on a model which I thought I saved. Long story short, I can not now find the file. I looked in my preferences and auto save was set to save every 5 mins and checked. Where is it autosaved to? (Windows 10)

    Thanks

If you have exited SketchUp cleanly any AutoSaved files are to-deleted.
They only exist if SketchUp has crashed.
They are made unless the model has been saved at least once...
AutoSave doesn't replace saving the model regularly, with an SKB backup version set one save behind...

With newer SketchUp versions any AutoSaved files are found in a special subfolder...
      C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\SketchUp\SketchUp 2021\SketchUp\working\SKETCHUP\RecoveredFiles
It's a hidden folder, so either set folder-options to show such files/folders or use the whole path pasted into a Windows Explorer window to go there directly...

Thanks Tig, I have attached an image of how far I got following that file path. I have only had windows 10 for a week or so, and we are not getting along. Any ideas?

You don't see AppData because it's 'hidden' - to stop you messing with it !
However, you can change your 'folder-options' to see it...
In the screenshot you showed there should be an option to 'View' in the unseen top part of the dialog ?
To the right-hand side of that top-bar there's a check-box entitled 'Hidden items' - tick that and AppData should appear in your User's list of available folders...

Thanks, I found a copy of the recovered file in documents so that was handy. Is there a way to change file location of the autsave files?
I had a look in sketchup preference/general/saving and there does not seem to have the facility to change it.

              The AutoSave location is hard-coded...
Just save a link to it somewhere ?
