Update Extension Notification
-
Every time I open SketchUp I get the notification on the right of the screen that an extension needs to be updated. If I go to the extension manager a "1" is displayed alongside "Manage". I click on Manage and it shows "Update" for Vertex Tools. I click on the update button. I get a notice I must be logged in. I log in. A Notification on the right of the screen says one extension has been updated.
Every time I open SketchUp I get the notif....... over and over.
One of these times I am going to ignore the notification LOL.
No, really. Is there a better way? If the notifications can be turned off that would be great.

You could try logging in ?
Then after you successfully do the update then that annoying notification should stop ?? -
Sorry, I did log in. And I've done it where I was already logged in before opening, but it's always the same. It's always Vertex Tools and always says an extension was successfully updated. And I still get the notification. I think I'll try updating Vertex Tools by a different method and see if that works.

I have the exact same problem. Always Vertex tools.

I get notifications of up to six plugins needing to be updated. I also have an issue with google continually updating their privacy policy. Just an excuse to whittle away at what little privacy we have in the net. Decided to use ask as a search engine instead, perhaps if enough of us move they will learn and change. No, not really going to happen is it?

If it doesn't update within the Manager after signing out and back in, then open Extension Warehouse from the Window menu and update it from there, or download it via web browser and install it using the Install button.

Logging out and in again is what I need to do for every update. However Vertex tools doesnt work anyway. Installing it manually works but maybe Thomthom or anyone in the SketchUp team could look into it. It's very annoying the way it (doesn't) works.

Needing to login and out all the time suggests other issues.

That has been the case for me since several years.

I haven't had to sign in for years. It could be your antivirus, cookie settings, permissions, security settings...
