I'm using SU Make 2017. Will using SU Free interfere with Make?
-
No. SketchUp Free runs in your web browser and has nothing to do with SketchUp 2017. As long as you are using them for hobbyist use, you're fine.
-
Remember that the web-based versions of your saved SKP file might not open in older SketchUp versions - like v2017 - without some forethought...
-
If you download the model from SketchUp Free, you now get a choice of saving as a 2017 file or 2018.
This is actually new since the last time I downloaded a file. In the past it automatically downloaded as a SketchUp 2017 file.

I hope the "upgrade" in that screenshot refer to SU Shop, if SketchUp Pro is going online (without a desktop alternative) I would seriously not be supporting it by upgrading

Seriously? The discussion in this thread is related to the browser based free version. The upgrade is to SketchUp Shop. There's been no release or even mention by Trimble of SketchUp Pro "going online" so what would make you think my screen shot shows that?

Seriously, seriously.
It's super close (as in due) to the annual major update / release; surely leaks are not unheard of?
-
Well, I've never had anything to leak. It just seems like a big leap to a conclusion that doesn't have any merit and it feels a bit like stirring the pot.
