Cracking video, amazing build and huge congratulations to all of you involved in this project. very well done folks.
-
Simply incredible ! The amount of front end research that must have been done before the first model was drawn. Then the modeling.... boggles the mind.....

Hello everyone! After a long pause I've eventually released the 3rd trailer of our ancient Rome 320 AD reconstruction. I hope to release the 3d walkthrough application for the whole center of ancient Rome in a year
-
GREAT video!. Just the period that I am learning about in the "History of Rome" podcast. I see the Basilica of Maxentius (or Constantine, however your loyalties lie).
-
Spectacular, are you in Unity or Unreal yet or still using Lumion?

Thanks! This is my last video using Lumion, nex will be in a game engine, which one - I've nod decided yet.

Well good luck, i've been using Blender as a go-between for Unreal but there is an SU>UE4 plugin available now (unofficial) that I hear is quite good but I am yet to use it myself, and can't find the link sorry but it's probably an easy Google.

What's your opinion about Unity vs. UE4, especially for exporting a huge Sketchup model, as Rome?
-
It's complicated and it's going to be a massive pain whatever option you choose. I used Unity to start off with then moved to UE4 as it's better documented and works better with VR (something I am learning). You can email me at liam@robotsvdinosaurs.com and I can send you my thoughts but really I think they will perform the same. I am not a developer so my coding is limited at basic HTML/CSS and JSON I found UE4 easier to scrape by with.

Ok, thank you, I'll contact you when I'll begin testing my project in a game engine.

We keep working with our "Rome in 3D" project. Here is the most important update during the recent months - the full-painted colored 3D reconstruction of the column of Trajan. Soon, an application will be released also, where you will be able to explore all colored scenes with annotanitons.
Also, we have launched our website, where all updates will appear. Here I'll keep posting most important of them

A very fine job being done, marvelous. Thanks for showing us.

-

-
beautiful! thanks for sharing the update!
have you used started using any game engine yet for the project? -
Well done!

You hit me with the atmosphere and music from my favorite Russian movie. I admire Ryazanov who even composed and played the music, and had his a role in the airplane... https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0073179/

Yes, it is Unreal Engine, my first attempt.
Meanwhile, our new project, "Romans in color". Actually, our goal to create color portraits for all roman Emperors and other famous people, and for now there are first 12 Caesars of Rome in color. Enjoy!
