Photo match issue

Hello gang,
Just letting you know - this is my very first post! no need to send flowers or anything though.
OK - My task is this - I have a photo of an empty room that I need to populate with furniture. The way I'm going about it is to recreate the room in SketchUp using photo match, add the furniture into the model then render using VRay.
The problem is that the moment I do a quick render, the aspect gets thrown out of whack and my model doesn't match the photo. I have read a few other threads which seem to outline a similar problem but I thought I'd post just in case there was any new thinking.
