I have an issue which is is described here (Sketchup 2017 pro (win 10 64bit, gtx1080ti 12GB) crashes on start:
https://forums.sketchup.com/t/sketchup-crash-with-gtx-1080-cant-find-read-card-memory-help/48316/2Sketchup 2017 Checkup utility states:
"Error: Your "GeForce GTX 1080 Ti/PCIe/SSE2" graphics card has 1 MB of graphics card memory. SketchUp requires a graphics card that has 256 MB or more of memory"Any ideas how it could be solved?

Juju, thanks for reply. But the link you've provided was alredy attached at the starting.
I have latest SU updates, drivers, frameworks and SDKs but for some reason Sketchup sees
0 of 12gb (my dedicated video memory).
P.S. Layout and StyleBuilder are running fine.
P.P.S. Installed oldie 2015 64bit- running fine. -
sorry, my bad if the link was posted initially, could have sworn...
IIRC this is a CheckUp utility problem, in most cases SketchUp will function normally.
I know there was a Win10 issue with SU related to a specific Windows KB update, most people reported normal functionality after the specific KB update in question was removed. Have you checked for this?
And SketchUp itself definitely crashes when starting up, not during usage?
Have you uninstalled and reinstalled (or done a repair installation) using the recommended right click > run as administrator? You also have the latest version? Stupid questions I suppose, just a matter of crossing the t's and dotting the i's.

there was a recent Nvidia update (I think last week) that fixed the anti alias problem I had with SketchUp 2017 and my gtx1080 (non-ti). Can't hurt to look again if you're running the latest drivers. Just dotting the i's...

Juju, It crashes on start.
Kaas, I installed the freshest nvidia drivers yesterday. I guess I should try some antique one. -
The message regarding the lower than reality memory is due to a Windows bug. It isn't really SketchUp "thinking" you have too little memory. Ignore it.
When you installed SketchUp, did you right click on the installer and select Run as administrator? If not SketchUp is not installed correctly and this could be the cause of the trouble. Are you getting Bug Splats?

Finally managed to sort it out:
reinstalled NET and vcredist_x64 from the oldest SU2017 and then upgaded.
Thank you all for participating. -

This is REALLY important. I was having all kinds of weird problems. When I reinstalled using Run as Administrator all of my problems went away.

Hi,
I too have this exact problem, but re installing c++ did not help, please can you advise where you downloaded your solution from? Thanks in advance.
James.

I am getting this issue now - twice in the last 2 weeks. I have a 1080ti and a Titan X installed
