The house that my dad bought, one of the previous owners left one behind. Not to sound like a wimp........but I handled it VERY gently. Quite literally, it was "razor sharp". I didn't use it. One slip and..............

I used my grandfathers, once, it scared me witless. With my nose, sneezing can occur at any moment. It does not bear thinking about.

I go to a Turkish barber every month.
For a haircut and a shave with hot-towels etc...
[the ear/noise-hair singeing included !]He uses a 'cutthroat-razor' [with individual blades each shave !]
I sometimes think that we might trust each other too much...
I sneeze and then he [accidentally] cuts my throat - so end of his career [at least] and end of me.
OR I say something unfortunate in Turkish and I upset him - so it's the end of me and of course the end of him...
Same result either way !
There is an unexpected mutual trust - that neither of us will mess up in those delicate ten minutes !He is a Muslim, I am from the UK Christian tradition [although an Atheist] - but neither of us ever think of this !

I went to a Turkish Barber in Riyadh and he used the straight razor on the admittedly few occasions I had shave AND haircut, him I trusted, me I am not too sure about The string thing for stray hairs on the face, neck and sideburn region I did not get used to and strikes me as being like waxing. Something I could not get over was the fact that we had Greeks and Turks working over there and they are some of the nicest, most genuine people I have ever met. Put them together and it was like oil and water sometimes.
