This happens on my one windows-8 machine. On my Mac all is fine.

I have un-installed and re-installed SketchUp, I can re-create this bug with no extensions present. I have the same bug in 2013 and 2014, make or pro.

When I start SketchUp, the first thing I must do is hit "Open" (ctrl-O) because 80% of the time the file dialog will start to appear and then SketchUp immediately crashes, no warning or BugSplat dialog.

20% of the time, it works! And I have no further file problems during that session.

If I forget to do this, and create something new, I run an 80% chance of accidentally losing my work when I select "Save" and the file dialog crashes SketchUp. If "Open" has worked once dring the same session, then "Save" also works.

SketchUp is the only one of my many applications that exhibits this behavior.

      Any ideas?
      Thanks!

Did you try Run as Admin by right clicking the the SketchUp icon on the desktop or in the Windows Start menu?

Download the free D'oh Book for SketchUp 📖
