HDRI Light splotches problem
-
Hi everyone, I thought I was already getting a handle on HDRIs, but when I found the right one for my scene, I got these light splotches. When rotating the HDRI (both in GI and BG) the splotches move. I was wondering if it's necessary to make a blurred copy of the original HDRI and use it for the GI. Or is there any other easier solution? Thx!

Do not use an HDRI in your GI or BG. In 2.0 you have to create a dome light. This will fix the problem.

Kinda looks cool though! Sorry for the lack of constructive input haha

If you are using HDR images, make a small blurred copy and also increase the HS subdivide to let me say 50 or more

Thanks, I hadn't seen that video. I think in it, they forget to mention to turn off/delete the HDRI in the GI and BG, but it is as you say. Problem solved

This is a good trick if you are not using 2.0. But I would say, moving forward with VR2, all HDRIs should be used with a dome light. You will not need the extra subdivs on your IR map. If you have a lot of noise in the image, increase the subdivs of the dome light.

It was recommended million times:
check sub-pixel mapping and clamp output;
uncheck reflective caustics.
