Blackmagic Design Fusion 7 is FREE
-
I don't know anything about this software but it seems to be a very powerful piece of software for anyone in CG. I found this news in the Blender forums and thought maybe it would be familiar to some SU users. I just downloaded it and I'm checking it out now.
NOTE: Windows Only. Seems if you google this topic, there are other forums discussing this news.Thread I found it http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?354134-Blackmagic-just-released-Fusion-for-free

UPDATE:
So I started reading the manual and find this is a great composting application like After Effects, Combustion, Etc. I can see some good uses for this for those who do a lot of post pro work. -
Incredible!

I been doing some research and I am very impressed with this software. The post pro possibilities are endless.
Check this video out among others for starters https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WB4H774bmbI

I played with this yesterday and today.
Pretty slick stuff but tutorials are like hen's teeth.
Still find Blender's Tracker to be better at resolving than this but the UI of this is way more pleasing.

Go on Youtube and search "Eyeon Fusion Tutorials". Seems all the good tutorials are before Blackmagic acquisition.
I was able to export a model from Sketchup as an FBX and import into Fusion. Very easy too. I just have to figure out how to get the model in Fusion in one piece so I don't end up with so many nodes. Probably have to explode the model. Then again it's good because each group or component will come in as independent nodes for micro management.

WOW! I just watched that video, amazing stuff.
What I can't understand is if Fusion7 can handle totally fake environments that I have built in SU?
Have you guys got any experience with this? Is Fusion 7 closer to Cinema 4D or Final Cut Pro?
-
Final Cut pro!
It's not a 3D modeler!
It's a compositer, animation , effects builder! -
So for doing awesome animations from scratch, Cinema 4D or Lumion or Blender would be better?
-
The more easy without knowledge Lumion! Hyper Pricy !
(but it modelises only terrains! You must import something inside - architeture specialised !
Very Pricy and traditional UI: C4D
0 bucks - The Top but some difficult to learn : Blender
