Renaming DefaultMaterial Causes Bug Splat
-
When I create a new material in the material editor and attempt to rename the material, an error message pops up that says- "In vrayforsketchup.get_skp_material_by_display_name, couldn't find existing material named: DefaultMaterial" . I then press "ok" and SketchUp crashes.
Does anyone know why this is happening?

Hi,
This is an old bug that has since been fixed. Please log into your account at ww.chaosgroup.com and go to the downloads section of the website and download V-Ray for Sketchup Service Pack 2. If you have any more problems feel free to contact support@chaosgroup.com

I get the same message but when i'm trying to rename a newly created two sided material. Sketchup doesn't crash in my case but instead I cannot find the new material in paint bucket and if i try to apply the material by selecting it and hit apply material to selection doesn't work either.
I just updated to the last version of Vray last week so the update is not a solution for me.
Anyone have clue? -
I also have the same problem. I just dont remane materials anymore. I am using OS: Windows 7, SU PRO 2014, and VRAY 2.00.24942.

Sometimes when creating new materials a disconnect can occur between V-Ray and Sketchup. Try Going to Plugins> Debugging> Force Sync All Materials
