This does not appear to be a SketchUp model
-
I have a model that my consultant is sending me. But no matter what version of SketchUp he saves it in, I get the same message trying to open it.
What could be the problem?
Thanks.

Are you sure they are the SKP and not the backup SKB files ?
If so change the end B to P and they'll open in SketchUp

I had the same problem with sending .SKP as an attachment with Mozilla Firebird.
Some how the files sometimes get corrupted.
I solved it by zipping the files before putting them in the mail. -

Try getting the SKPs inside a ZIP

I don't know what method you are using to transfer the files, but in some cases (e.g. FTP) you need to make sure that the file is designated to be binary. Otherwise the transfer may try to convert line ending characters between Windows, UNIX, and Mac conventions, and that will surely corrupt a binary file such as a skp.
