      Hi

Im wondering if there is a plugin that is more or less a progress bar. I know of the progress bar that works when a script is running which I've installed.

I'm after one that works for when you export a 2D graphic. Im trying to export the model as a pdf image but you only get the spinning loader icon thing so I never know if its exporting or has frozen.

      Thanks.

If it is unresponsive then it is working away.

It's a difficult one though because it's the type that ok you push the export and if u click on the sketchup screen it sort of fades white and says up the top its not responding and i know that can mean its workign away as it has come back in previous tasks like rendering.

However I tried to extract a PDF view the other day left it through the night to come back and find the message that it had crashed when i thought it was working. This is the problem you dont know how long its going to take or if its even extracting at all hence why im after some kind of plugin that shows the pdf export process.

what size are you trying to export at?

sounds like you're trying too big for sketchup.

the file size is at 30mb I just hit export i dont really understand the export options panel as when i tried to set it to an A2 page i did the height but the width just changes to something else. The options are confusing me.

I need to export this section as vector lines so their clean and crisp because the jpeg just wont look nice at A2.

                    hi,

did you set your window to the correct ratio for A series... [1:1.414 approx]

adjust view to what you want to see...

then try export as EPS, use window size, line weight 0.25 [ more reliable than PDF]

after export you can convert to PDF, and print at any size you want, it's a vector graphic...

trying to get SU to calculate to a finished size is what takes all the effort, if the views the right shape and you simply 'use view size' SU task is minimised...

                    still may take a while...

BTW. on mac you get a progress bar with a cancel option...2014-05-03 07.42.57 pm.png

                      Hey Driven

thanks for the advice but can you give me some more help as the hidden lines options dialog box is just confusing the hell out of me and im probably putting in the wrong numbers and check boxes.

                      heres how it looks:

I need to get the image out to an A2 size. i just have no idea what to do with this hidden line options box to make life easier.

my friend sent me his export options and his is so much more basic than mine with the options being

                        Image size
                        image scale
                        line quality

                        He is on mac btw
so why is it different for windows 😞

I'm on mac as well , I can only guess what they might do, but would experiment instead...

I'll PM you a plugin that helps set the screen to A series...

                          then select Full Scale 1:1

                          and

                          Match Screen Display

try it on a simple model, first...
