Upoad of new model - no image - how?
-
**[3dwh]I have 40 models uploaded to the 'old' 3D Warehouse with
no problems encountered. Today I uploaded my next new model to the
new (Trimble) warehouse. All was ok except i was not presented with
any option (that I saw) to upload my image of the model. Is there
someone who could explain how model picture uploading is
accomplished in this new warehouse.I was presented with a dialog stating 'they' were generating
an image (really?) but nothing ever happened. If the procedure is documented somewhere a steer would be

I wish somebody has an answer to this annoying issue on the new 3d warehouse. I can find no way to have an image show up for my new models' upload. Here is the url for the new model...

The new 3dWH does indeed automatically generate the views of your SKP.
When it is done you should get a 'view object', which you can then navigate around in 3d using your mouse etc...
At first it'll be in the XY plane, then XYZ if it makes the more complex version.
It would be best if a single fixed 2d image was made immediately from the SKP's view as it was uploaded - so you wouldn't get a blank screen at all after a few seconds...But as it is construed you need to have patience.
It is an enormous model > 40Mb, so you can imagine that making multiple images for 3d use takes a while - if it hasn't simply broken the 3dWHI suggest you bitch directly to Trimble/3dWH, as of course SketchUcation is not directly connected to any of this...

I would love to bitch to Trimble... but HOW? I cant seem to find where to complain.

The problem I'm having is when I select get model, the window opens but its blank except a few lines and a blue line at the bottom, and its not connecting to 3d warehouse.

Try clearing your cache and cookies in Internet Explorer. Then try again. If that doesn't work, make sure you can connect directly at http://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com.
