During the save of a file or thee push of a surface, SketchUp is dividing my coplanar planes, as if they are not coplanar. It is very frustrating and I can't figure out how to resolve this. I have never had this issue in the past. Seem images for example of what is happening. Using SketchUp 8.0.

    Any ideas would be great!

Turn on Color by Axis in the Style Panel to see if your geometry kosher

        Thanks,

That is a useful tool! Everything appears to be on the correct axis.

          And the scale is correct?

Sometimes SU will produce that result when the end points are out of whack by a very small tolerance. So small that the color by axis doesn't detect it.

Another thing you can do is Fix Problems in the Preferences panel.

Here is the model. I would have posted it first except that there was a texture that was unexpectedly causing it to be too large.

There are many modeling problems in what you posted. IMHO you should turn off fix problems. That caused the " auto folds" and it may be a real pain to fix.
You appear to have a basic misunderstanding of SU. It does not use layers for geometry isolation like some programs, they are only used for visibility control. Components and groups are used for that purpose.
The color by axis does not mean if I have a color it is on that axis but only coplanar. I can have an infinite number that are coplanar and some times you will get the color inference but they are not really connected . just appears that way.
hopefully it can be repaired with out major over haul.
All primitive geometry stays on layer 0 and only components and groups are assigned to other layers

Thanks for the information. Turning off the "Automatically check models for problems" option seems to have worked. I admit that model is still a bit of a mess. It is a combination of a imports. The outside skin is coming from Multigen Creator and some of the interior spaces are being imported from AutoCAD. I have a lot of work to clean and align everything up.

I have made some good progress to clean up most of the auto folds in the orginal post. One major issue is keeping an on face inference for the windows especially when trying to array across a large surface. Also the material browser is reporting four faces in some cases=> not good. If I get any thing close to useable will send this pm, XMAS shop time now.
Make sure you understand and use the su inference engine so things are keep planar etc. it maybe the program for the skin gives su some inference poblems. Make sure you lock the on face inference
