How can change the light intensity of spot light??
-
i don't want the sport light to be too bright. i liked the fallof and light effect on the wall, but i don't like the light spilled on the floor. how can i change the light intensity? thanks.
what units(scalar,lumens,...) should i use?
i tried intensity 1000 on scalar unit.and used inverse square decay. only very faint light.

linear decay,

Inverse square will give you a more realistic light falloff. The trick is that the intesity needs to be closer to the 10,000-20,000 level.

Indeed, you'll have to increase the intensity a lot if your scene also includes direct sunlight. Once you go to an interior scene and reduce the amount of sunlight, you will find you need lower values for your light intensity.

My recommendation is to get a nice IES file.

ya...i agree..i just tested it out using very high setting 10000-20000...seemed to work. maybe i will get a nice ies light later.

HUH?

hehe, I'm just thinking back to numerous posts "why doesn't my ies light show up" because they got some very low power ies file that won't work without 1m intensity. Just saying - OP needs to figure out the basics of artificial lighting in a scene before venturing down the ies maze...
