Finally updated to trimble sketchup.. toolbar location?
-
I had been using sk-8.something - quite happy with my large toolbar down the left hand side of my screen - might anyone know how to get it back over there? I really prefer more vertical real estate than I currently have
thanks

The toolbar thing in SU2013 has been covered a number of times here on the forum but here goes again.
The toolbar manager used in SU2013 doesn't allow double column vertical toolbars but you can place toolbars side by side. You might have to "push" them over but they will go. In addition you can make custom toolbars from the native tools. I made two vertical custom bars to put on the left side of the screen. These contain the same tools I had on the left in SU8. I made a screen shot. I'll find it and post it.
To make custom toolbars go to View>Toolbars and click on the New button. You'll get a window that asks for a toolbar name. Give it a name and you'll have a little blank toolbar. Drag tools from the native toolbars to the new one in whatever order you want. You can coax the toolbars into a vertical layout by clicking on the edge and pushing it toward the opposite end. Hold Ctrl while clicking and dragging to copy the tools from the native toolbars to the custom toolbars. Then close the native ones when you're finished with them. You can also choose to use small tools so they don't take up so much space.

It's been a health issue.. thanks again
while I'm asking things that have probably been asked before...any ideas why I can't see the forum pages with the waterfox browser? All I get is the header... I had to use opera to get here. -
I guess you mean 'Firefox' browser.
Works fine for me and thousands of other members.
Have you tried emptying the browser's cache [history] ?
Do you use the browser's default settings?
-
It is waterfox - waterfoxproject.org - I think it's got it's toes under the mozilla umbrella--
very similar to firefox though, but for 64 bit programming
I do a pretty good system clean every week - Sundays.. adv care, wise 365, avast, spybot and cCleaner - so my cache is cleaned regularly. -
OK, so it's an 'unusual browser'...
Do you have any Ad-blocking set up.
This will prevent some aspects of SCF working [we are funded mainly by ad-revenue and you will have agreed in the TOS not to use Ad-blockers on any of SCF pages...]
On Firefox and Chrome Adblocker will stop you seeing images, attachments and downloads... but the rest of the page should be visible, and Ad-block warnings displayed ?
If you do use one then disable it for both sketchucation.com and buysellads.com...
Also, is javascript fully enabled for this browser?Perhaps it's also a question to ask on the browser's forums ?
-
ah.. okiedokie - I realized that I was treading in off topic waters ..
I have both adblocker and ghostery disabled for all of sketchucation.com - didn't know about the buysellads.com site.
If adding that one to my exceptions list doesn't work, I'll toddle down the hall to browser land
thanks TIG
