Moving on an axis
-
Another issue with my recent project:
I cannot get the central lines to all move up on the blue axis. Some of them will but some of them wont. I'm not sure what's going on. Also on some of the curves it will create additional geometry when I move the lines up the blue axis. Any idea what my probem(s) is?edit: to clarify my goal--I want to create a peak along the center of the object**

That will be an issue because the faces that need to be angled won't get divided correctly. You could find those areas and draw lines across the surface to encourage things. Or maybe you could copy the center line up, select it and the outside edges and run Curviloft to create the angled surfaces.

If you change your Style so that Profiles are heavier than other edges and so that end-points display, then you will see that several of your edges/curves do not intersect with the faces they lie on, as I suspect you were hoping... Therefor moving those 'up' will not change the face they lie on, and it'll also have odd results with adjacent properly divided-up faces too...

Sorry Tig not sure i fully understand. I've set my profiles to appear heavier and I can see what you are talking about. So how do I solve the problem of the edges not intersecting with the faces they lie on?

Well... the context-menu 'intersect' often works on selected edges/faces ?
If that fails try to over-draw on the problem edges - that can jolt them into intersecting.
Or try grouping everything and exploding it, which also helps re-intersect sometimes...
Sometimes awkward geometry needs the faces to be subdivide using diagonals to triangulate that face and force other edges to intersect properly, once the face is divided the unwanted extra dividing lines can be erased...Because your form is symmetrical why not divide it in half and erase the least correct part?
THEN fix the remainder... then copy that to one side and use Flip or Scale -1 on it to Flip it, then move the parts together and erase any unneeded central lines...
