Need advice on using Artisan

If I may hijack this thread... I could need some advice on using Artisan too.
I'm trying to model Roundstack by Stackstoves. I'm having trouble creating the proxy for the red part. The extruded front shape keeps messing up the vertical cylinder (very clear in renders or during walk throughs in LightUp).
Also, I need to add lots of rounded edges already just to control the shape before pressing Subdivide & Smooth.
Any tips for changes to the proxy??

The image was there but I deleted it while I was editing my post and uploading a higher resolution file. Apparently you were reading my post at exactly the 20 seconds there was no image anymore..

Pilou, thanks for your reply.
I'm wondering if this particular shape can be made with a simple proxy or that I should already put in a more rounded shape and just use Artisan to soften the result. The intersection between the 2 shapes keeps messing up the end result. I haven't found the right combination of edges and creases yet.
I'm very curious though if a simple proxy is possible for this shape at all so I hope someone of the more experienced Artisan users can point me into the right direction...
It's very much fun though, a great plugin!

Just finished the stove. I tried several strategies and had the best results with the lowest polycount by rounding the corners already before using Subdivide and Smooth.
Still I'm curious if an experienced Artisan can achieve a good result with a simple proxy instead.

I think you would still get good results using your approach if you further reduced the number of circle and bevel segments.
Without using bevels and keeping the proxy as simple as possible, this is how I would tackle the shape:
Subdivision is done with 2 iterations.
The trick here is to use just enough segments and make sure that the block doesn't intersect with the tube along segment edges.
