In the words of my forefathers... Woot! Woot!

Why do Americans love listening to Irish people talk? I'm gonna watch again...
Really kool features... love the light system and the descriptions... the social media linking is great too.
-
Very happy with all the new features of PluginStore v1.2!
No need to use the forum "upload attachment" anymore with this great tool. Also noticed I need to update all of my icons so I went ahead and did that. Again superb job and thank you!
-
Thank You very much Rich.

So you don't run out of things to do now that these amazing improvements are ready to go, how about being able to save a plugin configuration for use on future projects that would use the same plugin set? Or save the plugin configuration with the model so when you open it again it has the same set of plugins.

I can totally dig it...

That would need a plugin to be created to store your setup.
If, for instance such a tool was made, we could allow the tool to store your preferences on our server so if you need to hot swap toolbars you just login to SCF activate the toolset and it grabs your setup.
If you logged in on another computer it would autoinstall the missing plugins then create the toolset from your stored preferences file.
Think of it like using SketchUcation as a DropBox for things related to plugins.
Plugin Authors would need add this 'special code' to their plugins to allow them to speak to the server but who says that isn't already being done

Best idea I've heard in a long time.

Is it possible to compare the version I have on my computer and the version being offered at the store. Like a top search menu, "New Version", which would show you the plugins that are on your computer and there is a newer version at the store.

Yes, we can do this but....
This requires the author to tweak his plugins to speak to the server.
I have some code that needs to be looked at by someone with a higher ruby level than mine.
But to answer the question...
Can the PluginStore look at my installed Plugins and check to see if there are updates?
Yes, absolutely
Can it do more than just look for updates?
Yes, absolutely
Can this happen sooner rather than later?
Yes, absolutely
Can it let me know what is updated and install it?
Yes, absolutely
The possibilities if we move the PluginStore/Manager in this direction is only limited by what the authors can imagine.
Currently, we do have a working example where the PluginStore tells me CloudUp needs to be updated

Plese make this a new feature.

The plugins store has a full list with dates. If the dates were in a javascript-readable attribute, it could all be done locally by comparing the versions, without changes needed on server-side.
