Entity Info dropdown has vanished
-
Hi, my Entity Info dropdown has vanished (Window>Entity Info), funny thing is it's still ticked but there's nothing on screen. I haven't changed screen res recently and the only recent plugin (since the problem noticed) is Anton_s's Sketchup Fullscreen, although when I removed Sketchup Fullscreen and restarted I still have no entity box.
SU is 8.0.16846 PRO, system is Win 7.
Apart from .rb and .rbz I also keep the odd text file and .pdf to explain some plugins, along with a couple of folders for plugins that I only need occasionally and with these I install them and then put them back in the back when I'm finished, although none of this has ever caused an issue.
I include a list of my plugins folder with file and folder names in case that helps.

I know of no plugin that might do this, although your guess at 'full-screen' is an obvious suspect...
Disabling it and any other recent plugin additions seems the next logical step...
Have you tried doing a 'Repair' on SketchUp ? -
Go to Window>Preferences>Workspace and click on Reset Workspace. Then go back to Window and select Entity Info. Does it show up then?
-
Thanks Dave - Window>Preferences>Workspace>reset workspace did the trick: I was reluctant to use it as I thought it would take Su back to its default toolbars which I think is implied by 'reset workspace'.
TIG what do you mean by a 'repair'?
-
No need to Repair as the Reset worked
But as you asked...
Under the Control Panel 'Programs and Features' you can find 'SketchUp'.
Select it and in the top-bar you should have 'Uninstall' and 'Repair' clickable links.
Clicking 'Repair' opens a series of dialogs.
If you have deleted/moved the installer package you can't go on, because it needs that to make the repair [which is a 'partial reinstall'].
If you do have an installer package you can also run that again 'as admin', and one of its options will ask if you want to 'Repair'... All of the base files used by SketchUp are then replaced with new copies from the installer's 'store', in case any have become corrupted... If Repair fails to fix issues, then an Uninstall and then an Install are the next steps... but that will lose any customized settings/preferences that are not already saved to a .dat file backup. -
Thanks TIG, I had no idea, overall SU is so much more user friendly: in Acad and Vectorworks if something like this happens a reinstall is the norm.
