        Hi, Jonathan,

It would help to know more about your specific problem. Where are you getting the texture? There are multiple methods for texture import; what are you doing? Also, what version of SketchUp are you using and can you tell us anything more about whether this has always been a problem or if it's new?

          Hi Andrew,
I am running SketchUPp 8 pro. I usually get my textures of the internet and save them as jpgs in photoshop. I have also tried saving them as tiffs, but it still crashes. I just go to file and import as texture and apply it to a face, but then after a few seconds it crashes. It is something that has happened since last week or so, I updated to vray 1.6 beta and feel that this update might have something to do with it, but not sure.

If you disable Vray does it still splat.
To do this temporarily remove the vray loader rb file from your Plugins folder, alternatively use the 'SketchUcation Plugins Manager' to temporarily 'Disable' it, then restart SketchUp...
If it then no longer splats this is not a SketchUp bug - it's most likely a Vray bug, so report it on their forums...
If you have more than one renderer loading it can also cause issues.
Try disabling all but one [say Vray], restart SketchUp and see what happens
If it still splats then try adjusting your SketchUp > Preferences > OpenGL settings and see if that helps...
Also consider 'Repairing' your SketchUp installation, in case some little thing in SketchUp has broken...

I work with V-Ray disabled when I model. It tends to mess up and make SketchUp unstable. I use my V-Ray Tools plugin I used which I can use to enable V-Ray on a per session basis.

For what it's worth, I was trying out a roof-builder plugin a couple of months ago. It caused a bugsplat every time I tried to apply a material that had been added to my material libraries since its install.

Want to name and shame the culprit - it's the only way to get it fixed for future releases... πŸ˜•
