LO won't render scenes as memorized
-
Sorry if this has already been answered before, I searched for a while to no avail.
I have a set of plans in LO and have memorized some house sections. In Sketchup the scenes are displaying as I would like them to. I save the SU model. Move over to the LO file and update the reference. Then I render the scene.
Note that the SU model in LO is showing the scene that I want and it is saying it is rendered. There are many scenes that do not have any problems and then there are 2 scenes with problems. One will not show the active section cut and the other is showing hidden geometry when it's not supposed to. Again, they do not look this way in SU.
Any help is soooo appreciated. LO can be very frustrating sometimes.

Are those two scenes shown as "modified" in LayOut? If so, they won't update because they are no longer tied directly to those scenes in SU. Reset the views in LO to the unmodified scenes and they'll update.
This isn't a bug but rather the way LO works.

Dave is correct. You either have a "modified" scene in LO or your scenes in SU are set with Hidden Geometry shown and Section Cuts not.

I do understand what happens when a scene gets modified and you are right that this is the same symptom but not the cause in this case. To be sure it wasn't modified I set the scene again in the sketch up model tab and hit render (several times actually). I even tried copying a scene that was displaying correctly and then changing the scene.
What seemed to work was to go into SU and memorize another identical scene and then use this new duplicate scene instead. I would still like to know what caused this behavior but I may not get to since I deleted the offending scenes from LO.
Thanks for the feedback Dave and Sonder

Maybe it's too late now but another thing to check is that the style(s) associated with the scenes are updated, too.
When you create a new scene after modifying the style, do you get a pop up warning with tick boxes asking what you want to do about the style? Or did you turn that off?

Nice thought Dave, I will take a look. I believe I could still see if that is the case in the SU model.

I have found that if I do not update a "Style" in SU, LO will give me fits. If I have a SU model with scenes of plans, elevations, sections and 3d views, I need to make sure that the "Style" (or "Styles") is set/updated so that the section planes and cuts are not viewed in the LO docs. Sometimes I have to apply several different "Styles" for different scenes in SU, so my LO doc is what I want it to be.
Much trial and error, but I think I'm finally getting the hang of LO.
Also, I would greatly appreciate a critique of this methodology, in case I'm going in the wrong direction and not getting the hang of it.

I think you're going the right direction. It's helpful to have the warning enabled when you are creating new scenes or updating existing ones to make sure that the style you have selected gets either updated or created as a new style. If you use a number of different styles it would make sense to click through each scene with the Styles window open and watch the thumbnails for circular arrows indicating the style has been modified without updating it. then take the appropriate action for the style.
Another thing that I find useful is making an effort to remember what styles I've already used and maybe even naming them so I don't wind up creating what amounts to several identical styles.

After looking at my model I do think that it was a style update issue. Thank you very much for the help with that one, it was getting quite frustrating.
