Interesting project you guys are working on and from the look of it really ambitious as well. The gun fit the rest of the art style very well, keep the good work!

Thanks to you both, yes the sci fi game is a big task as the models constructed for this title have to be lowpoly and the major draw back is the drawcalls that we are limited to on screen at any given time on a mobile device, but its getting ther, we already have a webplayer constructed and works very well, unfortunately i cant share the webplayer as of yet but its proving to be a great game so far πŸ˜„

Here if you remember i was working on a title originally for mobile devices called TARFU, still in the making but its no longer for modile devices, this project is aimed for release on XBLA and desktop computers via steam if all goes to plan, im currently working on the remodel of the characters and the i have alot more to play with in polycount.

Just added some colours to the character, this will be replaced with a custom texture, next is the give the character some 3D hair and the texture will be applied then.

the only thing that caught my attention was the hands passing through the legs.

i also noticed that he seems to be from the same genetic pool as Kim Kardashian πŸ˜•

Yes the MOCAP needs to be adjusted to prevent this, that will be done as soon as the character is finished

I started on constructing a costume texture for the character, much yet has to be done, in this video i have removed the backpack and webbing battle vest, my goal here is so when you remove the backpack the character will have a fully textured suit underneath, im also aiming to have the entire texture on 1 textile including the backpack. πŸ˜„

Nearly there, iv completed the backpack and webbing battle vest, all still on one texture 1024x1024, like in the previous video when the vest is removed the entire torso is textured underneath, also ammo pouches are detachable and what parts of the battle vest are under the pouches are also fully textured, i have yet to texture the boots, head, head band for the radio set and the visor, still keeping the entire texture on one textile. πŸ˜„

I apologise for the low rez of the video, its the best i can do at the moment, so its best not to maximise the size as detail will be blurred.

Finally finished, in this video i removed the visor so you can see that there is eyes behind them, the visor has a semi transparency cover added, i removed it as this animation software doesn't recognise the transparency, the entire model is textured on 1 texture 1024x1024, challenging as this was for me i still have room on the textile to add more, for example i could have a rifle or a helmet added to that same texture.
f you look closely you will notice the lace on the boots and even the shoe grips have being textured, all parts of the model can be removed ie the webbing, backpack and the character will still have a texture underneath, done and dusted πŸ˜„

I used an online auto rigger, you can find it here http://www.mixamo.com/

Export your modelled character to OBJ format and upload to mixamo, the rest is simply placing 8 markers, 2 for the knees, 2 for the elbow, 2 for the wrists, 1 for the chin and 1 for the groin, then within minutes mixamo rigs the character, this will only work if the character is modelled correctly.

Hope that helps, if you need help let me know, id be happy to help out πŸ˜„
