Archicad16 to Sketchup 8 .skp export
-
Hello,
Im a third year archi student and am trying to export a file from archicad 16 to sketchup 8 pro. I have save my file in archicad into .skp and it imports fine however when I try to use a different style such as lines only nothing shows up? I can still select the faces but it doesnt recognise that these faces have edges? I have edges turned on.
Cheers
Matt

Is View > Hidden Geometry ON ?
All faces must have edges around them, although those edges can be 'hidden' [or smoothed if part of a 'surface'], or edges can be on OFF layers that are different from the faces' [not recommended!], or edges can be set to be not displayed under a Style, or they can have the same material as the face with the Style's display set to render edges by material, or your materials might be set to display by Layer rather than the usual assigned materials ?
Any of these might result in you not seeing edges - but they will be there if you search. -
HIdden geometry was off and that largely cleared up the problem. That showed the edges were there but were hidden so I clicked unhide all and voila! Thanks a heap

You didn't look at the ArchiCAD site or check the ArchiCAD Help files?
