takes a bit of getting used to but there we go .http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiple_document_interface
ps - plugins certainly work better on a PC.

Something i need to also understand is the difference in saving
The file names change sometimes
exampledoc1.skp is what i opened
gets changed to 0.skp
then 1.skp
for the most recent......whys this?

0.skp, 1.skp is temp files SketchUp to to write to, once the model is successfully written to file the 0.skp file will replace the original and 0.skp will be removed.

Ah, I thought the he was saying the file name is getting changed.

Am i doing something wrong? They should not remain - something strange is going on. Where are you storing your files? Network drive?
-
hello again, been away from the computer for a few days - apologise for the delay
my files are stored in Documents which is on the local hard drive
-
i've experienced another difference.
(PC) I resized the viewport and all the tool bars I'd arranged neatly are now haphazardly all over the place. ? -
Yes. This is a normal sort of thing. After you put the toolbars where you want them, go to View>Toolbars and choose Save toolbar (or whatever it says.) In the future you can choose Restore Toolbars to reset them after resizing the window.
