    hi everybody,

i just thought i'd ask if anyone is having the same issue with VFB as i am.

the thing is that whenever i open VFB and try to click any of the buttons in it (Render Region, Track Cursor, Stamp, Color Correction...), the VFB with sketchup freezes and becomes unresponsive (everything else is ok, taskmanager does not report any unusual/intensive CPU/RAM activity), waiting for me to press ctrl+alt+del when it unfreezes.

the video of describing the problem is here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JsCswp-UdI (sorry, the embed somehow didn't work for me ๐Ÿ˜„)

    I'm using SketchUp 2017, V-Ray 3.4

yup I have the same issue sometimes. I found indeed that ctrl+alt+del is the only solutions. It only happens with big renders or models, but not consistently.
If anyone would have an actual fix for this - instead of the ctrl+alt+del workaround - he or she would make me very happy!

sorry, i forgot to mention that when the VRay Options dialog is open (and/or the vray material editor) the probability of this happening is much smaller in my case.

ctrl alt del is the only fix for this. That bug has been around forever. I sent bug reports to ASG all through the 1.48 beta but this thing never got picked up. It sounds like that have fixed over 100 bugs in the next beta so hopefully this was one of them.

thanks both of you for letting me know; it somehow feels better knowing that i'm not alone in this ๐Ÿ˜„)

guess we'll have to keep ctrlaltdeleting until the new VRay then.

Recently switched workstation and now I also have this exact same problem you described.
New beta doesnt help. Is there a known fix already?

I have the same today. I buy a new computer and installed SU2014 with Vray 2.0. After render, I click save button or other buttons, It's freezing. I search on Google and read this topic but have no solution. After that I install Autocad 2012, it neeed Net Framework 4.0 for install, but current is 4.5. I unintall NFW 4.5, Install NFW 4.0 and continous install Autocad. When I run Sketchup and render another file, that problem is fix.

Are you saying that Net Framework 4.5 is the cause of the problem?

Im glad I found this thread here, I've always had this problem in many different machines.
did not hear from anyone else who had the same issue, but I always had it.

                  Any updates?

We fixed an issue related to this in our latest 2.0 service release (2.00.25244). If anyone encounters this issue in that version or later, please submit a bug report to vfswip@chaosgroup.com. If anyone encounters this issue with a version older than 2.00.25244, do not contact us about it, it's already fixed (as far as we know anyway), please upgrade.

can you reference either release note or version history that provides us the bug fix information?

I thought the only difference between 2.00.24942 and 2.00.25244 is the fact that it was modified for sketchup 2015. (at least that was only thing that was stated in the version release mailshots, and I cannot find any other info)
It would be useful for the users to know what they are getting their feet into.
I am experiencing this issue on 2.00.24942. I will try to get the upgrade anyways, its just difficult sometimes with limited setup.

                      Thank you dkendig.

oh, I just realized we don't have the changelog listed in the download section for each release... Well anyway, no, we didn't just update to 64bit and call it a day, there were issues that were addressed also.

                          Hi everyone,

                          Sorry for my english.

                          First the nomenclature
                          VFB (Vray Frame Buffer)
.vrimg - VFB saved image format

The problem is easy to solve

                          Follow these steps:

**1-go to the address (PC \ Users \ "YourUser") and you will see the .vrimg files that have been saved in the VFB

2-look for the last file that has been saved, and put them in another folder or delete

3-open Sketchup and VFB and try again to open the history - Solved

4- If the problem continues only check the .vrimg files that are saved in PC \ Users \ "YourUser" to see which of them is that they have to remove**

This has happened 2 or 3 times in very large and heavy files that I have saved while still rendering, the file is damaged for unknown reasons and the VFB no longer responds until the damaged file is deleted

I hope this works for you
