Dialog Windows Flickering
-
This happens to me all the time and the only way I can fix it is to uninstall and reinstall SU which is a pain. What happens is that after a few months of use, SU just starts doing this crazy thing where the dialog windows (Materials, Components, Entity Info, etc) do this flickering thing whenever I switch from SU to another open program or minimize and maximize SU. It's like each dialog window is refreshing over and over and the whole process takes like 10 seconds. This has happened on both my work and home computer which have different graphics cards.

It happened to me when the toolbar registry entries got corrupted - they started to multiply to the point I had many thousands entries. Had to erase all the toolbar registry data to reset it to normal.

Can you give some insight on how to do this?
I noticed that if I close all of dialog windows, then minimize SU and maximize it, some of the closed windows reappear (Styles, Components, and Materials). Then if I close them again, they finally remain closed but when I reopen the dialogs the issue is not fixed.

I seen this when the groups and undo statemennts in programs keep adding rudly to the stacks (see open groups in outliner)then when I have 12 to 15 sketchup open during programming it flicker. Only way out is a hard crash. Then reboot. Whatch the mem use, must be a limit in grouping.... I use some sketchup.undo's to to close or group.explode to close groups when programs close.

This fixes the issue perfectly. Hopefully this is a bug that will get addressed by Trimble.
