The Sun as a demo

Hi Adam
Thanks for the idea. Took a look at your site and it looks very good. However not quite what I had in mind because I want a client to be able to view their building in a viewer and with the use of sliders or buttons or typing in information (or all three lol) be able to see the shadows. I deally they could move around the building like it was in Gogle Earth.
In order to do it your way it would be some kind of movie presentation which would not be very practical for 365 days of the year 24 hours a day. More importantly it would take me way too long.
-
So.. why can't you have a Scene for each sun position / time you want - and the user can choose a Scene and move around the scene freely?
I'll look into adding sliders.

Hi Adam
Sliders would be good. The reason it would not be practical rendering scenes or creating scenes is because at 365 days of the year and for arguments sake 12 hours sunlight a day I would have to create 4380 seperate scenes. If I could not have the model rotating I would want at least 4 different angles and that would then give me 17520 scenes lol. That would really fly in the face of my philosphy in life of doing the least ammount of work possible for the greatest financial gains .
If your company could sort something like this out so that any model can be placed within a viewer then using sliders etc to check sun positions I guarantee you will get a lot of business from Architects and builders. I know this because I keep getting asked if I can do it and currently I cannot

No problem. Here's a quick test I did adding sliders to allow you to edit the time of day and date from within the browser using the LightUp plugin.

Oh Adam
That is exactly what I was talking about. Nice one. How much for this pluggin?
-
Do you not see a price in the top right of this page....
I think it varies from region to region as mine is in Euros
-
Well unless I am being a complete idiot this wonderful new plugin that Adam has been working on is new within the software so I think my question of "how much?" is valid. That s unless I am being an idiot of course
-
I don't think you're being an idiot. I just presume that this is gonna be part of the LightUp extension that allows you to export LightUp scenes as .luca files that can be viewed online via the LightUp WebPlayer.
This is why I asked if you could see the price on the LightUp site.
-
Just to remove any confusion: I was simply demonstrating a feature thats essentially always been there in LightUp.
All I did was write a few extra lines of HTML to have a couple of sliders that talk the LightUp Web plugin.
I have today updated all the web browser plugins to v2.9.9 so that the Physical Sky is also updated as you change the time of day which looks great. The page I showed in the youtube video is here if you want to try it out for real:
http://light-up.co.uk/resources/webplayer/test.html
And of course, if this is useful to you, then please support LightUp by purchasing

Hi Adam. Was going to ask these questions via pm but figured they might be of interest to others.
- Sliders were not on the link so could not change time of day
- Does your lightup logo always have to be on the player. For example if I were to use it and have it on my site or offer to embed on clients site would want my logo or theirs (sorry my bad)
Apart from that I am loving a. the help you have shown and just as importantly b. the quality of the plugin
Many thanks

Had some problems with element z-ordering in some browsers. Should now be fixed. Try again.

When you export, you can set any watermark image you like AND set a website to go to when the user clicks on the watermark. The default is the LightUp logo and a website of http://light-up.co.uk, but you can set both to anything you like when exporting.
